Thanks for the subs! Haven't gotten around to watching this yet, but I'll make time for it before the week is over. I'll get back to you on this and the movie you recommended as soon as I can. Got distracted watching Unubore Deka, was looking for something light and funny to watch and that drama just turned out to be a barrel of laughs. :)

I like Unubore Deka too. :)
Nagase, Nishida Toshiyuki, and Arakawa, they are
so good.
I hope you'll enjoy the second episode.:)

thanks for episode 2. just finished it and it really is good..

oohh.. unubore deka im a fan of the show. really funny. i think the most memorable episode for me was when Yu Aoi was the guest. and the dance move on episode 2 really is the funniest for me. cant wait to see koyuki on episode 6. i think GM odore doctor is one of my favorites this season also for some reason because it is medical.

On Chase, I like how they use music effectively, like Hagetaka. I like to hear the ending theme after the tense episode. The song sounds sad and lonely, yet soft. Perfect for the drama.

I agree with you, jt. The best episode was second episode. Aoi Yu delivered well. The drama gets a little strayed after the third episode, but it gets better again when the director shift the focus back on Unubore.
I like the dancing too. :) Nagase is so good.

i think i've kept repeating the episode 2 unubore dance move a lot.

the ending theme of Chase sounds like the one from james bond movie You Only Live Twice. i like....

anyway, is it really true that inheritance money of 600 billion is taxed half from it? that means every penny that he receives from inheritance money, the government takes half of it. thats kinda unfair. in the US, the rich dont pay that much. there's even the famous Bush Tax Cuts. no wonder the billionaire's kid wants to cheat from it.

I did replay his dancing a couple of times too. :)

Sorry, I'm not familiar with James Bond movies.
It depends on the amount, but when the amount is that high, yes, you get taxed maximum.

Interesting episode although sometimes it borders on soap country-- I get a stupid grin on my face every time they play that jazz-saxophone number when Murakumo and Kaori are alone discussing their latest scheme (or should I say when Kaori gets thrown down a table).^^

Mighty foolish of the billionaire's son to get married to Kaori. There's no logic to it, especially when what he's after is a tax break. If I were him, I'd spend less of my time worrying about how my curly locks fall stylishly over my right eye and hire me a second tax consultant. x)

I don't know how it is in Japan but in our country, a grandchild can't inherit from the grandfather intestate unless the parent predeceased him. So wouldn't having a kid with Kaori abroad just give Murakumo the motive to off him in order for Kaori to get everything? If so, that's quite an ambitious scheme they have there, but then again, Kaori is a bit hard to read... can't really tell if she's just coasting along or if she has her own agenda in this.

Found it weird that the package Kaori had on her didn't pass thru the x-ray machine considering how airport security is really tight these days... but I guess, I wouldn't want them to be caught this early.

Nice touch on the part of the president of Zaicc Rental to leave a clue for the tax inspector. LOL. And great performances from Eguchi Yosuke as the grieving husband and ARATA is just superb in being cold and ruthless. All in all, it makes for great viewing. Thanks for providing the subs! :)

Poor rich people!!! government takes half of their money while some poor guys aren't taxed AT ALL just for the reason that they earned nothing. Life is unfair! :-(

I really like sato Jiro. He was Hilarious in "Haruka 17".

@zooey,

I agree with you on everything.
That soap opera almost made me stop watching, but I'm glad I kept watching.
I forgot if there'll be an explanation on further episodes about why the grandson is allowed to inherit the fortune.
The screenwriter, Sakamoto Yuji said he studied a lot for the drama, so I think he's being true to the law as much as possible.
But as you said, there are some too convenient events here and there. Besides the points you said, I also wondered why the airport security didn't say anything when Wong picked up the suitcase Gandare dropped.
But good directing and skilled actors are covering them and making the drama enjoyable.

@panda-zedo
I hope you are being sarcastic. :P
Yeah, Sato Jiro is a funny actor, though I've never heard of the drama, Haruka 17.
